Throughout, the house has
a simple style allowing to the architecture and the landscape
to speak for themselves.
Fixtures and fittings are
of high quality displaying a cool, sophistication. The
kitchen has been designed by BOC Design of Chelsea using
white cabinetry by Hacker, white Corian work surfaces
with Siemens and Neff appliances.
The dining area has been arranged using a Spevka wooden
table with coordinating stools. Bathrooms have limestone
floors, walls and surfaces and are fitted with Boffi and
Fantini sanitary ware. Floors are of solid board, engineered
oak in the living areas and limestone tiles in the bathrooms,
laid over an under floor heating system.
A sophisticated wiring system has been installed which
covers Lutron electric blinds, movement sensitive halogen
lighting, 5amp lighting, alarm, satellite television and
fast computer links, whilst internal doors have been hand
crafted using Ash.
Outside the attention to detail
continues.
Set amidst the Hargham Estate where wild flowers and birds
are in abundance, Woods End is situated to take full advantage
of this delightful location. A charming stream meanders
through the property, its banks of wild flowers gently
curving through the grounds and on to the woodland beyond
and in to the Estate. The house has been sited in an elevated,
commanding position allowing for views along the watercourse.
Decked areas lead directly from the house giving a marvelous
place from which to contemplate the lovely surroundings.
To the rear is another terrace which is complimented by
a Japanese style water feature. The bridges, front and
rear terraces all have feature lighting, adding a further
dimension to the property during twilight hours.
Elsewhere there are extensive lawned
areas, again peppered within digenous wild flowers, some
newly planted trees and a well covered by a sedum roofed,
flint and brick 'grotto'. An area of woodland has tall,
majestic, mature trees with an undergrowth of spring flowers
and shrubs including some fabulous wild garlic.
